The HF 5500 5-axis horizontal machining center is equipped with pallet changer and offers a 900mm x 950mm x 900mm work envelope and a 750kg max. pallet load. The workpiece provides the fifth axis for dynamic 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis machining.

The horizontal spindle offers quick tool changes and short idle times, and linear axes in X, Y, and Z are equipped with absolute measuring systems. Turning tools

Stamping press, coil-feed system

The Bliss C1-125 single-point gap frame mechanical press features Allen-Bradley controls, a fast acting hydraulic overload system, Ross valves, Siemens drive motor, Graco lubrication, an OMPI clutch, and flywheel brake.

The standard configuration is capable of 30 to 60 strokes per minute. A high-rigidity steel welded frame minimizes deflection. The C-frame press can be paired with a Bliss model B300 compact coil feed system for a width up to 300mm.

Bliss press models range from 60 metric tons to 630 metric tons and are available in single-point gap frame, two-point gap frame, and straight side designs.

Vacuum slot chucks

Witte modular style vacuum slot chucks provide expanded clamping surfaces and are available in 200mm x 300mm, 300mm x 400mm, and 400mm x 600mm sizes. Connection elements function as quick couplings, allowing the clamping surface or work area to be configured in two directions. For example, one 200mm x 300mm chuck may be extended to 200mm x 600mm or 300mm x 400mm. Designed for small parts work, the slot chucks are suited for light milling and drilling.

Vibration damping level mounts

GN 342.1/342.2 metric size, tapped-and-threaded, stud-type, steel vibration dampening leveling mounts feature an oil-resistant elastomer dampening element with an operating range from -30°C to 70°C (-22°F to 158°F).

The leveling mounts feature a base, tapped socket or threaded stud, and hex nut (hex nut is included with threaded stud version) that are steel with a zinc-plated, blue passivated finish. The dampening element is gray anti-slip material, glued to the base.

Mill-turn center

The compact Quicktech S-32 ATM 9-axis twin spindle mill/turn center combines integral-motor main- and sub-spindles with a 190° B-axis milling head and an automatic toolchanger to maximize output of small, complex parts.

The S-32 ATM's nine axes are serviced by a 24-tool arm-type automatic changer. Six fixed gang-type ID turning tools at sub-spindle give a total capacity of 30 tools. The machine’s 3,750mm x 2,175mm x 2,025mm (150" x 87" x 81") dimensions (including chip conveyor) promote efficient use of manufacturing floor space.

The main spindle and sub-spindle feature 6,000rpm, 5hp high-torque integral motors and have 42mm collet chucks (or 5", 3-jaw hydraulic chucks) with capacity for 30mm bar stock. The spindles feature a continuous C-axis with a braking system and are synchronized for part transfer.

The 10,000rpm, 3hp, HSK40-T B-axis milling spindle services turning main- and sub-spindles and has a working range of 190° (± 95° from vertical). The B-axis is locked in position for rigid turning operations. The 24-tool arm-type toolchanger, with an HSK-40T quick-change tooling system, produces 1.3-second tool changes. The sub-spindle moves in the X-, Y-, and Z-axes, and in the X-axis can move above and below the centerline to clear the B-axis and enable it to have full tilting capabilities. At the sub-spindle are six gang-type turning tools that allow simultaneous turning and milling operations. Rigid tapping is standard.

Equipped with a Mitsubishi M830W control, all spindles and axes use Mitsubishi AC servomotors and amplifiers. Also available is a Fanuc OiT-F control and matching Fanuc motors and drives. Standard machine features include a bar feeder interface, parts conveyor and catcher, chip conveyor, collet chucks, and a 400psi coolant pump.

Benchtop vision measurement system

The HVR100-FLIP large field-of-vision (FOV) benchtop vision measurement system can be used vertically or horizontally, features a high-resolution digital video camera, and has minimal optical distortion for accurate FOV measurements up to 90mm (3.65"). Horizontal or vertical orientation supports an array of applications from flat parts to turned and threaded parts.

The system displays a live video image with software measurement tools and graphical digital measurement reading. By tapping the monitor screen, users can resize a part image using pan, zoom, and measurements.
