The Edge X-5, 5-axis waterjet system is designed for heavy-duty industrial use in waterjet shops that demand lasting performance, precision, and accuracy. Small F77 Series ultrasonic sensors fit into tight spaces in dirty and dusty environments. Adept at handling color variations or transparent targets, the miniature sensors can detect objects within an area, not just sensing only what is directly in front of them.
The sensors are immune to acoustic interference and have minimal deadband – important characteristics for sensors mounted on machinery with noisy pneumatic cylinders. At 31mm x 11mm x 23mm, the sensors provide up to 50Hz switching frequency for fast responses. High-visibility LEDs offer at-a-glance status indication. Intuitive range adjustments allow changes on-the-fly.
Hybrid laser cutter, punch machine
The TruMatic 6000 fiber punch laser unites solid-state laser processing with punching and forming. The machine rapidly laser cuts, punches, forms, and engraves sheet metal up to 0.25". Designed for scratch-free processing, an intuitive laser output control system ensures quality when cutting delicate curves and tight radii.
When cutting galvanized mild steel and stainless steel, processing speeds are up to 6x greater than with a CO2 laser. The TruMatic 6000 fiber also can process copper, brass, and aluminum. The TruDisk laser resonator design increases process reliability since the laser is impervious to back-reflections, and can be configured to share its laser as part of a laser network to support additional processing operations, such as laser welding.
A smart punch monitoring function determines whether a punch has broken and will stop the machine and notify the operator in the event of an issue. The smart load function automatically aligns the sheet on the machine, while the smart unload function optimizes the removal process. The machine can recognize if a part is stuck in skeleton, and if it cannot be removed automatically, the machine will stop to avoid collision.
Tool setup, punch inspection, and material changes can occur quickly when operating either the stand-alone or the automatic version of the machine. The stand-alone version features large sliding doors which make it possible to unload sheets below the machine’s table. Since the enclosure is only required when the laser is processing, the doors may remain open during punching operations. When the laser is active, the enclosure’s large viewing windows provide operators with maximum visibility of the work area.
