The Alpha Precision Group (APG) formed in 2016 when Alpha Sintered Metals purchased Precision Made Products (PMP), a metal injection molding (MIM) company in Brunswick, Ohio; and Precision Compacted Components (PCC), a sintered metal company that specializes in powertrain components with locations in Wilcox and St. Marys, Pennsylvania.
APG operates through two primary divisions: APG Sintered Metals consisting of Alpha Sintered Metals for powder metallurgy (PM) operations and Precision Compacted Components, and APG Metal Injection Molding (MIM) consisting of Alpha Sintered Metals (MIM operations) and Precision Made Products.
The combined organization provides additional key product offerings and expanded capabilities that dovetail with the company’s strategic focus on automotive components that support improved fuel economy and enhanced emissions performance.
Steve Patrick, director of sales and marketing at APG Sintered Metals, says the acquisitions have expanded APG’s manufacturing capacity and capabilities for machining and assembly value-added services.
“It is increasingly important for APG to provide complete engineering solutions for our customers. Our ability to augment our component manufacturing capabilities with state-of-the art CNC machining and assembly provides greater value to our customers through reduced inventory, lead-time, and costs,” Patrick says.
APG President and CEO JoAnne Ryan was recently recognized by the MPIF for distinguished service to powdered metallurgy. Prior to joining APG, she spent more than three decades in executive leadership positions in the sintered metal industry. Ryan is a former board member of the Powder Metallurgy Parts Association (PMPA, one of the MPIF’s member organizations) and is currently a member of the MPIF Industry Development Board.
